August Imanzi

on october 16, in the most beautiful way i could ever have imagined, our 4th and final child joined our family. our son, august imanzi. Baby four, 4 months

i am four months into this pregnancy with our fourth child and i am happy to say that while i still throw up most days, i am keeping down much more of my meals and i am back to my pre-pregnancy weight. i still have wretched stretches where i am just miserably ill and good for nothing but a half-hearted snuggle. and i still have to carry my barf bags everywhere. but i am also extremely skilled and practiced at dealing with those occurrences without it being too inconvenient. we will find out the gender in a few weeks, and more than really wanting either outcome, i am mostly just anxious to KNOW so that i can start to think about the fall with a fourth daughter or a first son. of course i am also very anxious to know that the baby is healthy and growing well. it has been hard to keep up with my photography endeavors because my health is still so unpredictable. or if anything, its predictably not good. but, as i said in my three month update, i have to remember that i can only

Eden is NINE

eden turned nine a month ago, and I am only now finding the time to write about her. this last pregnancy took every little bit of whatever is in me. and it left me dropping balls left and right. but i am here, doing this now, and a months late is better than never at all. eden is absolutely fantastic. she has grown so much in maturity in the last year, taking over so many household responsibilities and chores. part of this has been in response to my lack of ability to get much done due to near constant illness , and part of it is just because she is growing up and learning that it comes with a heavier share of the household burden. she regularly cooks dinner and she does so much without being asked and she takes her chore chart seriously. i am so proud to see how capable and willing she is to help around the house. she has also grown so much in general. she's tall and looks like a pre-teen and has developed her own style, which she is constantly asking me to comment on and
