etta mae is 6 months old

here i am again, marveling that a baby of mine has been alive for half of a year!  half of a YEAR! i remember feeling like it was impossible when eden reached this age.  it seemed like such a significant point to me.  a six month old is so much bigger than a new baby.  i know im going round and round here but this really is an age that makes me realize that my kid is on her way to being a big girl. and it makes me more and more resolved to notice EVERYTHING.
etta mae is just really really delightful.  she sleeps in her crib in the room she shares with eden.  its such a sweet feeling to have them sharing a room and to peek my head in right before i go to bed and see them both in there.  etta sleeps really well and really reliably from 7:30pm until about 6am. (unless she is sick, which she is right now.  then all bets are off) i feed her at 6am ish and then let her doze a bit more until her sister wakes up closer to 7.  its a nice little rhythm.
and for the record, since i love to come back to these posts for reference, at 6 months her schedule is as follows.

6 something, first feeding of the day and then back down for a few more snoozes

7:00 her day begins.  she eats bananas with coconut oil and cinnamon for breakfast most mornings.  then she plays and squawks until her nap

9:00 down for her first nap. sometimes she does not make it all the way to 9 but most days its just about spot on

11:00  up from nap.  sometimes she has slept all the way to 11, and sometimes she has been awake for 30 min or so.  feeding and then a lunch of butternut squash with olive oil and garlic or sweet potatoes cooked in coconut oil or honey nut squash.  we have not done many green veggies yet, mostly orange ones.  i think ill whip up some zucchini soon and see if she loves it the same way her sister did...which was alot!  then she plays or jumps and is just so much fun until she starts to lose it at around 12:45

1:00 down for her second nap, which she sleeps really really hard.

3:00 up from her nap, another feeding, and we typically play outside till early evening.  she loves being outside so we go to the park or walk or just stay in the front yard.

5:00 a quick cat nap which is super essential to helping her make it to bed time.

5:45 up from the nap, a feeding and some dinner with the family.  then sometimes a bath or sometimes just playing until bedtime at 7:30.
she is SO quick to smile.  pretty much all you have to do is look at her and make a silly noise and her eyebrows will go up and a huge smile will just take over her little face.  its just a huge gift to have instant joy at my disposal every day.  i have said it before that i really really needed a boost in joy these last few months and she provides such a quick fix.
etta mae we love you so much and just cant wait to be with you each day!  thank you for being such a wonderful addition to team agaba.
