Eden is NINE

eden turned nine a month ago, and I am only now finding the time to write about her.  this last pregnancy took every little bit of whatever is in me.  and it left me dropping balls left and right.  but i am here, doing this now, and a months late is better than never at all.

eden is absolutely fantastic.  she has grown so much in maturity in the last year, taking over so many household responsibilities and chores.  part of this has been in response to my lack of ability to get much done due to near constant illness, and part of it is just because she is growing up and learning that it comes with a heavier share of the household burden.  she regularly cooks dinner and she does so much without being asked and she takes her chore chart seriously.  i am so proud to see how capable and willing she is to help around the house.

she has also grown so much in general.  she's tall and looks like a pre-teen and has developed her own style, which she is constantly asking me to comment on and approve of.  she is much cooler than i ever was, certainly in those pre-teen years (if you knew me then, you know).

she has been on a dahl kick lately and laughs out loud while reading charlie and the chocolate factory.  she started fourth grade in the fall and is constantly amazing me with her mind and her ability to grasp ideas and digest them and make them all her own.  she loves listening to audio books too, and listens to beloved stories over and over again.  she protests about piano practice but is making her way through and i am hoping this coming year will bring more confidence and enjoyment for her with that instrument.

in a few weeks she will be the big sister of three younger siblings, and there's no one id rather have at the helm of the agaba sibling troupe.
