Ivy Ann is TWO Years Old

two years ago we welcomed ivy ann into our lives.  we had no idea how much we needed her, or how much joy and brightness she would bring to us.  she has more personality per square inch than any other child i have every known.  and she has a lot of square inches, if you know what i mean.
ivy is jubilant and full of life and hilarious.  she is stubborn but she is also quick to reconcile once i have corrected her.  at two, her vocabulary and ability to communicate have just exploded.  i always love that transition from being mostly non-verbal into being able to articulate thoughts and desires.

ivy loves to snuggle me.  which is convienant since that is what it takes for me to get through the homeschool day with her around.  she is loud, even when perfectly happy, and wants to sit on my lap with her arm around my neck and read each book aloud with me.  its infuriating but i also have to remind myself that she is growing far too rapidly for me to waste time being discontent in any season with the particular challenges of that time.
she calls the girls deeden and detta.  they are so helpful with her and are constantly teaching her how to be more and more independent.  she wants to wash her dishes with them and drink coffee like they do and is thoroughly convinced that she is absolutely the same as they are.
other observations:

she loves her godmother 'nahnah'.

she always wants to facetime my parents.

she is obsessive over, and possessive of baby mina cotten.

her snack of choice is almost always a mandarin orange, which she calls 'ohwah'.

she loves to drink water.  she drinks huge gulps first thing every morning.

she also loves to be in the water.  we make weekly trips to the beach/lake/river this summer and she is the most boyant and happy water baby.

she mostly pumps only her left arm when running.

her laugh is gigantic.

she is also gigantic (about 35 lbs as a 2 year old)

i call her pumpkin pie and i'd take a slice of her any day.

happy birthday ivy ann!
