last night proved to be a summer teaser at its best. i joined some good friends and their munchkins for friday cheers, a concert series that happens on brown's island in downtown RVA. it was sunny, though windy and cold as well, and married duo shovels and rope played a fantastic hour-long set. man can that lady holler and sing. i reveled in the blissful combination of her voice, duck and gouda pizza from a food truck, the river, the sunshine, and my friends with their munchkins in tow...it just felt like summer.
the only bummer was previewing summer sans husband, who was up to his ears in studying for his last two finals. but hopefully he will frequent this scene with me once he is free.
