feeling a bit more adventurous


I began cooking when I arrived home from my honeymoon.

Thankfully I have had lots of help from my mother, sister, grandmother and friends.  There used to be a time when I could not get through a single trip to the grocery store without calling my mother for help.  

Lately, however, I have been feeling a bit more adventurous with baking and cooking.  

These are the few I have tried recently and all have turned out well

Homemade Basil Pesto
(thanks to Martha giving me the guts to do it!)


Chilled Avocado and Cucumber Soup
(thanks to my sister for the recipe and the first run on the recipe last summer)


Sour Cream Pound Cake with Strawberries
(grandmom's recipe and several phone calls to get her help)


Chicken Marsala over Linguini 
(found this one all on my own)


Homemade Apricot Preserves

  1. Love this Laura! For a while I was trying one new recipe a week, whether it intimidated me or not. I found that all those recipes I had feared making were never as difficult as everyone made them out to be. Even with 2 kids tugging at my apron.
