Ivy Ann is EIGHT Months Old

we are mid spring over here, about to move to our first home that we've ever owned, and ivy ann is just growing at the speed of light.  it seems that our family has been operating at a break-neck pace for the last month and ivy is keeping up no doubt.  she is crawling properly now, and very quickly.  she is also pulling up to standing on her own and standing for minutes at a time holding onto something.  this of course caused me to look back and see when this particular milestone happened with the other two.  and, just as i suspected, she is neck and neck with eden, who was pulling up at a similar age and walking at 11 months.  (etta mae was not even pulling up onto all fours but for a few moments here and there when she turned 8 months).  so if this is any indicator, i have another eden on my hands.  and if you know eden, you know that thought is simultaneously exhilarating and exhausting.  but mostly exhilarating, cause she is literally the best.
she has also learned so much.  she can sign more if she is really motivated.  of course she doesn't sign 'more', because i teach her in kinyarwanda.  so she signs 'ibindi'.  and she also is very aware of the command 'udafata' which means don't touch, as well as 'udashira mumunwa', don't put that in your mouth.  its never ceases to amaze me how early they can learn, how much they can understand, and that they really can obey at an early age.
she still has no teeth (again tracking with eden who did not get her first till 17 months) but she is attacking any and every food with a vengeance. she loves avocado, sweet potato, kalamata olives, and any type of cheese.
she is mostly content, though she seems to be going through a needy phase at the moment.  her thighs are larger than life and i use them as stress balls when i just need a moment.  seriously, therapeutic.
eden can feed her and carry her (which is in itself a feat because she weighs close to 21 lbs) and make her smile.  ivy lights up when either of her sisters walks in the room, especially for the first time in the morning.
she is continuing to sleep 7-7 with two 2 hour naps during the day (she dropped her cat nap) and she still gets a dream feed before i go down.  this is partially because i don't wnat to mess with all that sleep, and partly because i LOVE breastfeeding and i just love the extra time at night, just the two of us, where her sleepy little self clings on to me and she snuggles me while she nurses asleep.
ives, you are the best, kid.
