JAN family reunion: October 2018

at the beginning of october my entire family got together for a long weekend at my parents.  

since we are spread out over three states and two coasts, we dont get to gather with the entire group very often, so it was highly anticipated and extremely special.  i think the general feel among us was that the whole weekend ought to be slow and savored and enjoyed. as a result, there was a lot of porch sitting during gorgeous days and then snuggled up with blankets and a fire going at night.  there were card games and cocktails and copious amounts of laughing and overall rowdiness.  the kids ran around, inside and out, and enjoyed being together all 6 for the first time.  the JAN family felt mighty full; of people, and kids, and love for each other.
